2024-2025 Afternoon Enrichment (1 to 3:30):

Afternoon Enrichment Classes are one hour long and are divided by Gametime: Unplugged We know kids want to play and parents want them to develop friendships.
Gametime is structured play specifically for these purposes. We may be outside learning playground games or inside learning quick tabletop games. In either case students are taught the games and good sportsmanship.

MONDAY: 
STEM & Handcrafts
Our Homeschool Elementary STEM 8-week courses offer group hands-on challenges to expand children’s understanding of different science topics.

Handcrafts allow students to practice focused tasks that improve hand coordination and stamina while following precise directions to create physical items for their accomplishment. Many handcraft topics, such as candle making, are also science topics. 

Quarter 1: August 12 through October 3: Rockets, Planes, & Automobiles with Candle & Soap Making
Quarter 2: October 12 through December 16: Exploring Habitats & Ecosystems with Upcycling and Recycled Crafts (including Holiday Bazaar)
Quarter 3: January 13 through March 6: Exploring the Human Body: Senses & Circulation with Leatherworking
Quarter 4: March 24 through May 15: Building and Understanding Robots with Basket Weaving

TUESDAY:
Good Citizenship & Linguistics - Understanding Spoken Languages
Texas homeschool laws require teaching “good citizenship”. If you struggle with what this means and how to teach it let us take that burden off your shoulders. From roles and responsibilities of public officials to rights and responsibilities of citizens and respectful civic engagement, this class will provide your child a sense of purpose and fulfill that elusive requirement.

Linguistics - Understanding Spoken Languages class has three main goals:
To understand how languages are related and how they have evolved.
To build a basic knowledge of different languages.

Quarter 1: August 12 through October 3: Introduction to Citizenship & Community Helper & Spanish
Quarter 2: October 12 through December 16: People’s Rights and Responsibilities & Portuguese
Quarter 3: January 13 through March 6: Global & Digital Citizenship & French
Quarter 4: March 24 through May 15: >Community Involvement & Italian

WEDNESDAY
Performing & Visual Arts
Students enjoy learning creativity within themselves as well as working with others while taking both performance arts and visual art topics.

Quarter 1: August 12 through October 3: Chorus & Painting
Quarter 2: October 12 through December 16: Theater & Nature Photography
Quarter 3: January 13 through March 6: Country Dancing with Drawing & Artist Study
Quarter 4: March 24 through May 15: Build & Play Drums with Sculpting

THURSDAY
Domestic Sciences
Our homes are the foundation for everything we do but there is so much that goes into making a house and making a home. Students will join us in learning traditional “shop” and “home ec” topics at their respective level to get basic skills needed to appreciate everything needed to keep our homes in order.

Quarter 1: August 12 through October 3: Carpentry with Sewing & Mending
Quarter 2: October 12 through December 16: Landscaping & Canning
Quarter 3: January 13 through March 6: Electricity & Money Management
Quarter 4: March 24 through May 15: Plumbing with Kitchen Basics & Summer Foods
